Lump With Ingrown Hair On The Back Of The Neck. Should Be Worried?
hi my name is nancy. my question is. my sister has a lump on the outside of her back neck . it looks darker then her skin. is it a in grown hair. or what .she tells me her neck hurts. not sure if the lump is the pain or something else. she has been to the docs. of course nothing was done. no xrays. so im concerns about my sister, what should we do.
It is difficult to comment on the nature of painful lump on the back.
Some investigations are required to know the character of the lesion.
A office procedure known as fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) in which aneedle is inserted into the swelling is required. This test will sample the cells. These cells will be examined under the microscope and the character of cells will tell about the nature of the lesion.
After the investigation, further management can be planned.
Consult your surgeon for the investigation.
Thanks and take care
