Recently had a MRI of my knee and the following was the result. Please explain to me what this means and what do I need to do to heal from my injury. 1. What does subcutaneous edema in the lateral prepatellar soft tissues could reflect a mild bursitis. 2. Mucoid degeneration of the menisci without focal tear or joint effuction
Subcutaneous edema means fluid accumulation in the cells beneath the skin. Bursitis is the inflammation of bursa and it may cause fluid accumulation in the surrounding. Mucoid degeneration of menisci are normal age related findings. you need to consult your orthopaedician for the findings. your condition may be treated by conservative means.
