MRI Result Shows Mild Degenerative Disk Disease, Disk Protrusion With Sub Annular Tear. What Does It Mean?
I have an mri result saying as the impression: mild degenerative disk disease at L4-5 and L5-S1. mild broad-based central disk protrusion at L4-5 with poster central focus of subannular tear. Abutment of the descending L5 nerve roots is noted without definite compromise nonetheless clinical correlation is reccomended. what does all this mean?
The above mentioned MRI findings reveal the reasons for your back pain and possibly for your buttock to leg radiating pain. You have disc degeneration and disc prolapse at L4 -5 level. You need initial physiotherapy, and tablets, then if required Epidural injection or Disc Excision Surgery.
