MRI Showed Slab Lateral Tear, Have Dent A The Upper Arm With Discoloration. Cause?
I got into an accident earlier last year...after mri results ..they found i had a slab laberal tear..i believe.that s what its called. So i went to pt for a few months..now last month i noticed a dent in my upper arm and just a few days ago i noticed it s slightly lighter then the rest of the area around my arm. Im very concerned what could this be ?? please help.
What you have is a SLAP Tear (Superior Labrum Anterior to Posterior tear). It is quite a notorious type of lesion which usually doesn't heal spontaneously and many patients require arthroscopic surgery for it. Physiotherapy alone does not help.
The dent which you notice is probably due to muscle wasting caused by less use of the affected limb. It is a matter of concern and I would suggest you to consult an arthroscopic surgeon in your area before the tear increases in size. Delaying the inevitable will only do more harm.
I hope my advice has helped. Good luck
