Arm Pain, Nose Bleed, MRI Of Spine Clear. Why Was MRI Done?
I ve been having upper arm pain in both arms for approximately 5 months. At times, depending on what Im doing, it can be excruciating. Example: Reached for a shoe under the bed and it felt like someone had hit me in the upper arm with a sledgehammer. Also, about a week ago I was driving aound town and my nose just started bleeding for absolutely no reason. I went to the emergency room and they gave me an MRI of the spine and results were fine. I don t understand why they would give me an MRI of the spine if its my arms that are hurting?
Dear friend, welcome to HCM.
many cases of arm pain, especially if shooting or electric like, pins n needles, are due to nerve compression at the exit from bony spinal canal, in the neck.
so we do an MRI of the relevent spine to see for any compressive radiculo-myelopathy there as cause of pain.
the nose bleed looks totally unrelated.
are your arms swollen ?
is the pain constant or episodic?
what other tests have been done?
take care and keep me posted on your progress.
