MRI Shows Fracture In Coccyx After Injury. Done Physiotherapy. X-ray Shows Sacralization Of L5
I had a fall from my bike around a year ago (Dec 11) and MRI later revealed a small fracture in cocyx. After doing physiotherapy sessions (IFT etc) my pain has still not subsided. My recent x-ray reports reveal sacralization of L5 on right side and obliteration of lumbo-sacral disc spaces due to sacralisation. There is also anterior tilt of coccyx.
Hi welcome to HCM.
It is known as coccydynia. Pain in such condition is chronic in nature. You may have to revisit your orthopaedician because in some cases surgery may needed. Rest is main stay of treatment in addition to physiotherapy.
Sacralization is normal variation in vertebral anatomy. It is not related to pain at all.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
