Maternal Blood Screening, Hydrops Fetalis, Downs Syndrome, Genetic Disorder, Possibility Of Other Disorders

i have a couple questions about maternal blood testing. my daughter just had one done and it has said that the baby has a risk of developing downs syndrome and another genetic disorder that starts with a g , she couldnt remember what the doctor called it, that is deadly and can cause hydrops fetalis . First question is with maternal blood testing does it just test the mothers blood to where she is the person carrying those genes or would that also include the fathers blood because the baby s and her blood is mixed? the second question is what is possibly the other disorder?

The test done for your daughter most probabely is triple marker test for pregnancy done in the 2nd trimester and it measures the alpha fetoprotein levels, estriol levels and beta hcg levels. Various combination of their respective levels help to predict the possiblity of Downs syndrome. They are not related to the mother's genes.
