Mild Discomfort On Surgical Site. Underwent Double Hernia Surgery. After Lifting Weights Suffered Erectile Dysfunction. Please Advise
I had a double hernia (femoral and inguinal) operation in 2006. Everything went well. Starting 10 Sep 2013, I lifted heavy weights in 6 weeks. On the 3rd week of lifting I developed erectile dysfunction. My blood pressure is 170/72. I think I re-damaged the femoral area. I have no pain or swelling but when I press down on the femoral surgical site I feel a mild discomfort. What do you think my situation is? Thank you.
If both hernia were fixed with a mesh, recurrence possibility is very low. If there was no mesh, you may have the hernia back. However hernia does not cause erectile dysfunction. Your blood pressure is much too high and if not treated, can cause life threatening complications. I suggest you to visit your doctor and have your blood pressure treated. You should also have inguinal ultrasound and consult general surgeon.
Hope this will help. Regards.
