Missed Periods. Taking Adderall. Pregnancy Test Negative. Does This Drug Have Any Affect On Test? Suggestions?

Hello,

I have missed my period for over a month now. I took a home pregnancy test one week ago. The result was negative. I have a second test I am going to take in the morning. However, I am a frequent and long time user of adderall. Will this give me a false negative reading? There are other factors that can contribute to me missing my period as I was sick for one week, a lot of stress, and recently prescribed celexa. I have read that adderall can give false negatives and was wondering if I should even take the pregnancy test again or trust the results.

Hello
thanks for your query.
Adderall can rarely interfere with home pregnancy test results.
You would do well to rely on a blood test or a pelvic ultrasound.
Also, stress, anxiety, multidrug medication etc can also delay your periods.
Hypothyroidism and polycystic ovarian syndrome are other reasons.
All the best.
