More Thirst, Stomach Cramps, Frequent Urination After Viral Infection. What Could Be This?

i am aged 19 and have led a relatively healthy lifestyle.I play football regularly and eat a well balanced diet. six months ago i was admitted to hospital due to an extremely bad viral infection.since i was released from hospital, i always am thirsty and drink around 8 litres of water a day.i also have stomach cramps and increased need to urinate.one night at a mates house i had a reading of 38 mmol/l on a blood sensor kit

Your symptoms raise the suspicion of diabetes mellitus. Also, the value of 38mmol/L is too high to be considered a normal blood sugar reading.

I will suggest that you meet your doctor. He will investigate and try to confirm the suspicion of you having diabetes mellitus.
