Multiple Hepatic Hemangiomas. How Serious Is This?
I have just found out I have 6 hepatic hemangiomas ranging from 1cm to 11cm. How serious is this? How dangerous? How likely are they to rupture? What should I do?
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,
thanks for your query,
Hepatic hemangiomas are thought to be present in as many as 7% of healthy people. It is more common in women than in men. Female hormones may promote the formation and growth of hemangiomas. Hemangiomas are not malignant and do not become cancerous.
The vast majority of hepatic hemangiomas require no treatment. If a hepatic hemangioma is large, especially if it is causing symptoms, surgical removal is an option.
Its better you consult a gastroenterologist.
Take care.
