Muscle Ache, Weak, Fatigued, Vomit, No Food For Few Days, Fever. Reason?
Hi, I am a 42yr old male. For the past few days my muscles have been aching all over, i am weak and fatigued, and every time I try to eat I vomit. I have not experienced any other symptoms, but I do admit that I have recently gone all day with out food for a few days. Thhe first day I experienced these symptoms I had a fever. Can you offer any insight doc?
It is likely that you are experiencing acute gastroenteritis.
This can be caused by a viral or bacterial infection. It would be associated with the symptoms that you are experiecing- nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, fatigue, muscle aches and pain.
The main part of treatment is to maintain hydration. This means that you must use enough fluids to prevent dehydration. Because the stomach is inflamed and irritated, it would be best to use small amounts at a time initially.
This means using 1 tbs every 5 minutes for an hour, if this is tolerated then you can increase the amount. It would be best to use oral rehydration fluids so that you are replacing fluid and salts .
I hope this helps
