Hi Greetings from health care magic
The left atrium is a muscular sack that is part of the heart. There are four heart chambers. These are the right and left atria and ventricles. The
right atrium receives
venous blood from the body through the inferior and
superior vena cava (large veins) and the blood then crosses the
tricuspid valve and goes on into the
right ventricle and then into the lungs where it receives oxygen. Then from lungs to left atrium by
pulmonary Vein. From left atrium to left ventricle through mitral valve and from left ventricle through aorta to the body
If the dimensions of a heart chamber are larger than the normal range then that heart chamber is considered to be enlarged or dilated. The left atrium does the job of pumping fresh oxygenated blood (stored in lungs) to the left ventricle, which is then circulated throughout the body. the cause of left atrial enlargement are –
hypertension, obesity, lungs diseases, narrowed mitral valve etc
The symptoms of left atrial emlargement are - chest pain, extreme tiredness, difficulty in breathing, abnormal heartbeat
Smookers are very prone to COPD ( chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases). So please quit smoking as quick as possible. Always all things will not happen suddenly. but once anything happened that time there will be no time to rectify.
thank you
