Naval Tender And Hard. Diagnosed As Swollen And Infected Lymph Node. Would Swimming Cause This?
Went to doctor because my navel is tender and hard. He told me that my lymph node is swollen and infected. He asked several things that I could've done ie shaved around my navel but all my answer were no. He then asked if I had been swimming which I had done the day before the symptoms started and the day after in the Gulf of Mexico. All he said was good information to know. I was instructed to follow up in two days after taking clindamycin. If the symptoms aren't better I would need to see a general surgeon or an OB/GYN. My questions are what role would swimming play in the lymph nodes swelling and why an OB/GYN?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The hard and tender navel is suggestive of an infection the area. If the pain medicines and systemic antibiotics have not helped in decreasing the symptoms then you need to consult a surgeon for local exploration to remove the cause of infection in the area. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
