Need Explanation Of MRI Result

Hi, i am pankaj I have writing here my MRI report,Plz suggest me Lateral Meniscus: Anterior horn, body & posterior horn show low grade intrameniscal signal changes, not communicating with articular surface. The posterior horn is separated from the lateral tibial condyle by 9mm with fibrous tissue in the intervening space.

Thanks for using healthcaremagic.
The intrameniscal signal changes within the lateral meniscus are degenerative changes. Unless it communicates with the articular surface we do not classify it as tear. So it is very commonly seen and does not need any treatment. The separation of the posterior horn from the lateral tibial condyle suggests root tear of the lateral meniscus which is the problem in your case. Fibrous tissue in between suggests that it is not an acute tear and has been there for some time now. It will need repair and can be done by orthopedician.
