I've been diagnosed with nodules below the thyroid (ablated) and the endocrinologist is watching them, but a cat scan now 6 months later says I have nodules between the juggler vein and a gastric area? I'm not sure where that is and what can they do for this?
Hi, Thanks for using healthcaremagic. The nodules which you have been diagnosed with must be thyroid nodules before which have been ablated. I think, the cat scan report must be different as gastric area is in the abdomen while jugular vein is in the neck. So both are pretty far away and not related. I guess it might be jugular vein and carotid region which is in the neck. These nodules may be lymph nodes which require monitoring if they are larger in size. You can undergo an USG Neck scan which will delineate the nature of these nodules better than the cat scan. They can decide whether the nodules are inflammatory or neoplastic. If inflammatory, they will ask for a follow up, maybe after 1-2 months and if neoplastic it will require tissue analysis using FNAC/Biopsy. If you have further doubts, you can please mail me back. I will be happy to clarify the doubts. Hope it sorts your problem and wishing you a speedy recovery. Regards,
