It must have been started with common cold which is usually left untreated and then one get the complications like he has got. Augmentin is still the medicine of choice, only thing is that you have to give him the dosages as advised by your Pediatrician as per the body weight in three divided dosages for it to be completely effective and also need to take a cough suppressant not the mucolytic. Do not give Mucolite, instead give cough syrup/suppressant
