Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal, MD.
Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query
Salmomella typii or typhoid is a treatable disease. The antibiotic prescribed by your doctor seems to be quite appropriate. However, I will also suggest that you keep a watch on her
fever.
The reason for keeping a watch on her fever status is because
typhoid bacteria has developed resistance to many antibiotics. So there might be a possibility that the fever may not get reduced, or may recur after treatment.
I will suggest a
blood culture. The reason being that if the culture manages to isolate the organism, the antibiotic needed for her fever would be accurately known
I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above/if any other so I can be of help further.
