Noticed A Bump On Right Knee After Hitting Floor With Knee. How To Fix It?

On Saturday I bent down to pick up a piracy of candy wrapper off the floor and I hit the floor with my knee kinda hard didn't think of it at the time. The next morning I put my hand on my knees and noticed my right knee had a bump on it pointed up like a mosquito bite and it hurts bad. What may of done this? How do I fix this?

Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

The bump is apparently due to skin abrasion/contusion with reflex collection of fluid under the skin.

It doesn't appear to be infected. Hence, cold compresses, covering the bump with a Band-aid and a short course of NSAIDs, such as a combination of ibuprofen + paracetamol should suffice.

Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me, and will prescribe the advised treatment in appropriate dose.
