Noticed Pink Circular Spots On Pubic Area After Delivery. Spongy White Stuff Coming From It. Is This An Infection?
I am a young female, who is engaged and hasn t had sexual activity in over 5 months. I had my daughter two months ago. A month ago the light pink circles appeared on my pubic area, right abut where the pubic symphysis comes together. The circles have gotten redder, and now there is this strange spongy white matter that comes off if I touch it and one of the larger circles has a red dot in the middle now . If I remove the white matter, the red ring and/or the red dot in the middle bleeds very little. They don t itch . I am panicking thinking this might be an infection from the hospital where I had my daughter -as there is NO other way I could have gotten an STD . Is this as serious as I think? What is it?
Hi there. From your description, it does appear to be some sort of nosocomial infection. There is a group of dermatological conditions called Gyrate erythemas & your description seems to fit under this. However, Psoriasis or Dermatophytosis seem the obvious front-runners...the former is Not an infection. Having said this, one would need to 'see' this lesion & /or take a skin biopsy to comment for certain & the treeatment would vary accordingly. Might i suggest fixing a dermatology appointment at the earliest with a dermatologist nearest you & you may use our site to help you out with addresses et al. Alternatively you are welcome to take good clear photographs of the lesions & upload them on this site using our 'ask-a-doctor' feature that will ensure discretion & guarantee safety..& get in touch with one of us online. Please do either asap in the interest of your new-born daughter as if it is of infectious origins & nosocomial, we would not want to pass it on to her. Cheers & Wish you both good health!
