Numbness On Face, Temple And Ear. Lumps Under Skin. What Could It Be?
I have numbness along the upper left side of my face, fom my temple down over my cheek and near my ear. There are also some subcutaneous lumps that look like a vehicles vein there suddenly. What could it be? The skin surface is also very sensitive to touch like it has been burned. I have had no recent injury other a fairly severe cut to my left fingertip last evening.
Hi, Welcome and thanks for posting your query to HCM.
You have not mentioned in your query since how long the symptoms of numbness on face, temple and ear with lumps under skin are been felt. If the symptoms are present within 72 hours then it may be Herpes zoster.
If these are present for more than 3-5 days then there is some kind of mass lesion which is pressing the nerves and causing the problem. It is better to consult a doctor immediately as the swellings near face and above neck area should never be taken lightly. DO not follow the policy of wait and watch as the swelling can get more aggravated. With good health wishes Dr. Sanjay Kumar Kanodia
