hi you have hiatus hernia which was under control by zintac, pantoprazole. it may be mainly 2 types 1.rolling 2.sliding. in both type some part of stomach goes into thorasic cavity. so reflux is a common problem here. yet it is controlled with drugs effectively in most cases, as you have. sometimes it need surgery in uncontrollable sign symptoms. its a kind of permanent solution. but before doing a surgery many things are to be evaluated eg. your current physical status,your sign symptoms-disease severity etc. so to have permanent solution you should consult an experienced gastro intestinal surgeon. good luck.
