Occasional Break Out Of Big, Red, Pimple Like Bumps On Face With Swollen Lymph Node. No Pus. Stress Related?

For the past couple years, I've occasionally broken out in big red pimple-like bumps on my face - usually on my forehead and/or cheeks. I had one this morning along with painful swollen lymph node under the same-side ear by my jawbone. I've never been able to figure out what causes these. They aren't the usual pimple. No pus. Clear fluid only, very big and painful and they last a couple weeks. Could they be related to hormonal fluctuations (period is still 2.5 weeks away)? Or maybe a stress reaction (I've had crippling anxiety about a year ago that lasted 2 years - off all meds now)?

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic
Acne or pimples can have a nodulo-cystic variant in which you can see such large lesions. The lymph node swells up because of the infection over the cyst. It is better to consult a dermatologist for treatment of this cystic acne and these have a higher chance of scarring your face.
Hope this helped.
Take care
