Occassional Swelling In Right Ankle. Have Varicose Veins. Darkening Of Ankle, Inside Calf, Tender To Touch. Reason?
Occasionally I have swelling in my right ankle. I do have pretty good varicose veins and have had about 20 years. Lately my entire ankle is turning very dark, it doesnt go away just seems to get darker nd is slowly darkening going up the insdie of my calf or lower leg. really just looks incredibly bruised. Sometimes it is tender to touch.

This is because standing and walking puts extra pressure on the veins in the lower body.If your varicose veins are causing you pain or discomfort or they cause complications, they can be treated in several ways, the most common being: endothermal ablation - treatment where heat is used to seal affected veins sclerotherapy, which uses special foam to close the veins a phlebectomy, involving surgery to remove the affected veins compression stockings - specially designed to improve circulation in the legs
