On Antibiotic For Sinusitis But Coughing And Slight Hoarseness Persist

I have sinusitis...on antibiotic...for five days so far...still coughing and slight hoarseness...my surgery scheduled for April 3rd....will I be okay to do...I had to request medical leave a month in advance...and secure a full time substitute as a teacher. I can't post pone as I only have five days left of medical leave left from the six weeks I'm using.

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding your sinusitis which is already under treatment and your surgery had been planed in april. You are taking antibiotics but even though cough is persisting.

In connection to your query I would like to say that your cough may be allergic or may be due to irritation of throat by post nasal drip because of sinusitis. So you may take-

1- Steam inhalation and warm saline gargling.

2- Anti allergic and cough sedative lozenges.

3- Antacid with PPI.

4- Adequate fluid orally.
