Pain And Swelling In Foot After Fall. Bruising. Suggestions?

HI, my name is Melanie. I fell on uneven cobble stone today. I felt initial pain on the outside and top of my foot (seemingly twisted my foot in some way during the fall, but did not feel a pop of any kind). Continued to walk (mostly out of embarrassment:)) for about 45 minutes until I rested at a cafe to do work. I sat for another hour and once I began to walk again there continued to be aggressive pain and minimal swelling on the top of my foot. I can bend my toes, but flexing my foot frontwards and backwards strains and irritates the foot even more (mainly top of my foot closer to the outside (pinky toe side). I cannot walk without pain and discomfort (has been about 6 hours). Minimal bruising on the top of my foot. Can you suggest anything? I am traveling for the next three days, do you think I should consult a doctor or go for an x-ray?
thanks for any help!

Hello, you must have a x ray of foot with ankle ap and lateral view. Apart from this take some analgesic, do cold compress and apply some compression bandage till you see a doctor. Thank you
