Pain In Heel And Ankle Due To Leg Injury, Hurts To Walk, Bump On Foot

I was skating and I Ollied off a curb, but when I did so, my foot went over the top of the board and under the board (but in front of wheels), when I landed, it rolled over and I fell forward. There was a stinging pain and it hurt to walk on a lil. It's been a few hours now and i noticed a slight bump on the side of my foot. It hurts to twist and walk on. There's pain in my heel , ankle, and sides of my foot.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Based on the description, either you could have sustained a fracture or a ligament sprain.

An xray is needed to rule out a fracture. MRI scan is necessary to assess the extent of soft tissue injury.

The preliminary management of these injuries is as follows -
* Protection - of the ankle and foot in a splint
* Rest - to the injured area and avoid activities that puts strain on that area
* Ice packing to alleviate the pain
* Elastic compression bandage around the swollen area
* Elevation of the foot to reduce the swelling
* analgesics as needed

Consult an orthosurgeon for further management.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day

Thanks for consultation
You get an X rays done. Rule out bony injury.
- Get iceing done
- Elevate the limb
- Take NSAIDs preferably combination with serratiopeptidase.
- Do not put weight till Xrays.
- See some orthopedic surgeon. If Ligament injury( Ankle sprain) a splint will be required.
