Pain In Left Pelvic Area, Bright Red Bloody Bowel Movements. History Of Having Diabetes. Colonoscopy Required?

Hello, I am a 50yr old diabetic female..I have been experiencing pain in my lower left side near my pelvic area for about 5wks and have bright red blood bowel movements that are starting to worry me as it seems to be getting worse...should I seek out have a colonscopy right away? or is this something I could hold off on for a couple more weeks?

Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Blood in stool ( bright red color) means something is not good in lower part of intestine ( anal canal, rectum colon ).
May be due to,
hemorrhoids,
dysentery,
cancer,
ulcerative colitis.
blood disorder.
Colonoscopy will reveal many things , so get in after consultation with a Gastroenterologist.
