Hi Doctor My mother is 46 yrs old and due to unknown reason she developed pain in one knee , when x-rayed it was found that she has developed gap in one joint . She is having severe pain from the past 1 yr and cannot walk straight and even can t stand for a long time . She has taken lots of treatment including alopathic, phsiotherapy, exercise for the same by changing many doctors as well but no help. Is there any speciifc treatment apart from the knee replacement ? Is doing exercise or physiotherapy wil help? kINDLY suggest .
There is no treatment for osteoarthritis which can cure it completely. Drugs have their side effects. Best treatment is Total knee replacement. You can go ahead with it. All other treatment like massage, oil are wastage of time. Avoid squatting or sitting cross leg. Take regular calcium.
