Pain In Side, Lower Back Pressure, Urge To Pass Stools, Gas. Done Colonoscopy. What To Do?

I'm having pain on my left side and pressure in lower back. Been having a strong urge to move my bowels but nothing but gas and tannish mucus (small amount) only comes out. I had a colonoscopy a week ago tomorrow because of rectal bleeding with clots. nothing was found. everything came back negative. I started with these newer symptom's on this past Friday. not sure of what to do at this point.

Hello!

Thank you for the query.

As large intestine issues has been ruled out, other possible reasons of your symptoms are bacterial infection of intestines, small intestine issues (like partial obstruction due to adhesions), pancreas issues.
Back pain can be caused by urinary tract infection which quite often associates loose stools.

I suggest you to have stool tests, stool culture test and urine analysis at first. If this tests will be negative, abdominal CT with oral contrast (enteroclysis) should be next.

You may also discuss with your doctor Rifaximine treatment.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
