Hi,I am Dr. Radhakrishna (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 34 yr old male. I have been having severe pain in my abdomen on the left side of my belly button. I noticed the pain about 3 days ago after lifting a hot water heater. Now every time I cough or sneeze it feels like a hot knife is stabbing me. If I cough I have to hold my hand and push in the area and the pain is not as severe. Could this be a hernia even though I dont have any thing bulding out?
Hi dear
Welcome to HealthcareMagic.
Without any swelling its unlikely that it could be hernia. It might be a muscular spasm or tear.I advise you to visit a General surgeon for complete physical examination and treatment.
Take care.
