Pain In The Chest. Took Omeprazole For Hiatus Hernia. Suggestions?
I'm a 70 year old woman and have had continuos pain in my chest on my heart side for about three hours I've taken one Omepazole 10mg tablet a day for my Highatus hernia for about three years but no other drugs, I had a memory test just answering questions and was told I was good for my age but may have clots on the brain. My husband is housebound so don't want to drive myself to hospital unless urgent.
Hi and thanks for the query, It home would necessary however to get a reevaluation by a physician. Chest pain should not automatically be ascribed to the hiatus hernia. Especially if persistent and intense, it might be necessary to get a reevaluation. Other causes of chest pain like gastroesophagal reflux intensification, reevaluation of the state of the hiatus hernia, cardiac causes of chest pain are important. A chest X ray, PH measures, fibroscoscopies, ECG and cardiac ultrasound could give a good idea of all what is going on. Rather than stay being unsure of what is actually going on, I strongly suggest you consult your family physician or an internist if possible. Thanks and best regards, Luchuo, MD.
