Pain In Upper Butt Crack, Tender, Swollen, Pus Coming Out. Will Amoxicillin Help?

my husband recently complained of pain around his upper butt crack and I finally got him to let me have a look. It looks like it is pussing, also a little swollen. He says it is very tender. Could something like amoxicillin clear this up? Do we need to apply an antibiotic directly or apply gauze? It doesnt appear to be inflamed.

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

He should be given antibiotic coverage empirically. Better to give tablet amoxycillin combination with clavulanic acid thrice daily for 7 days. It has wide coverage.
He also need clinical examination.
Analgesics with serratopeptidase combination tablets should also be given as it is very painful area.
If drainage is required then it can also be done.
Get well soon.

Take Care
