Pain In Upper Left Arm, Unable To Move Or Lift Heavy Things, Swelling In Palm And Fingers At Night. Thoughts?

I have pain in my upper left arm and can not move my arm behind me or lift anything to heavy. Also, at night while sleeping the palm of my left hand (the fleshy part just below the fingers) will swell, and the ring on my ring finger will become very swollen to the point that I can not get my ring off, which is usually very, very loose on my finger. This has been ongoing for over a month.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi and welcome to HCM

It seems to be vascular or nerve related causing inflammation and swelling in the area. Direct physical examination and appropriate investigations are needed to arrive at a diagnosis.
Meanwhile take anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen to reduce pain and local swelling or inflammation.
Do not lift weight or try to do exercise that involve painful muscles.

I do hope that you have found something helpful and informative and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care.
