Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, my hubby dislocated his knuckle yesterday. The knucle under his pinky. He went the hospital and they relocated it back in place. He did not get a splint or any kind of support for healing process. Is that normal for this kind of injury? He has been in pain and we are not sure if its just normal pain you should feel after that kind of procedure or if he is suffering more because he was not supported properly

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hi and welcome to HCM
After reducing the dislocation ,splintage is required to restrict the movement at joint and for healing process and pain control.I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the area affected under his/her guidance and proper treatment according to that.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and informative and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care.
