Painful Lump On The Collarbone Near Throat. Had Pain In The Shoulder, Armpit. Reason?

I have a painful lump on the end of my right collarbone nearest the throat . My right shoulder became painful yesterday and down into my armpit. I thought I must have strained it, by sitting badly or carrying something too heavy. The pain has remained with me today and I feel as if I ve badly pulled the muscles across my right shoulder. It was only this evening that I notice the right collarbone has developed a lump and is very tender to touch. I am 55 years old, a non-smoker and light drinker.

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

From the description you gave, the lump bove collar bone might be a simple sprain. The pain around the area and arm pit might be associated with the sprain which happened due to the reason you already mentioned. If the lump is exactly on the throat area, the reason could be tonsils infection, lymph node enlargement, Slivary glands infection or even mumps. But these are only possibilities. Also are you in for any treatment for any other chronic problems? Application of olive oil and hot wter fermentation might give you relief. Consult a physician if this persists for more than three days without sign of relief.
