Painful Urination After Putting Mirena 2 Mnths Back And General Hurting As Well. Tylenol Doesn T Help.

had my mirena put 2 months ago, since yesterday I have pain when i pee but it never goes away, it feels like i have to go but when I do only a little comes out and its really painful. Now it s really hurting thati cant even sleep. Tylenol doesnt help.

hello and welcome,

I understand your concern. However the mirena was inserted 2 months ago and your symptoms started since one day. So this is not due to mirena. This is more likely a urinary tract infection.

You will need to get a urine examination and culture to detect the offending organism. Antibiotics like nitrofurantoin are usually prescribed. Also meanwhile you must take plenty of fluids to flush away the infection. Urinary alkalinizers like syrup citralka 5ml with a glass of water are helpful.
I understand the pain, it will go away soon after proper treatment.
