Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Pale Stool, Painful Abdomen. What Do Symptoms Indicate?
I have not made stool as often over the past week or so but when i do the stool does look pale along with pain in the abdomen on the upper right. I have drank and smoked for along time and I feel it has now caught up to me but other than these symptoms I have been very active for age 41 in which I do go to the gymn 3 to 4 times a week.
Pale stools and pain in right upper abdomen suggest disease like gall stones. And history of alcohol intake is a risk factor for that too.
A physical examination and blood tests are mandatory to confirm the diagnosis.
You get an appointment with a Surgeon and he will do blood tests like LFT, and a Ultrasonogram of abdomen. Which will help in reaching a definite diagnosis.
Wish you good health.
