Patch Of Thickened, White Skin Between Vagina And Anus. Suspected Malignant. Can Biopsy Be Postponed For A Week?
I have discovered a patch of thickened, white skin between my vagina and anus. I saw my ob gyn doctor today and he thinks it could be maglinant. I'm leaving on a long planned trip in a few days. My doctor wants me to see another doctor for a biopsy. Am I taking a bad risk to mske this trip? I will be gone for 8 days.
Well I do not think that you are making a bad decision because most skin tumors (if malignant) are hardly metastatic i.e migrate to other organs). Now you need to be wise enough to determine the growth rate of the patch/lump as if it occurred within a few days and still growing, it will be better you postpone your trip for a later time and get the biopsy done soonest to determine the cause so as to provide you with a immediate treatment. But if the lump is slow growing and has been there for a while, it would not be any issues if you could allow for few more days before biopsy done. It is left for you to see if your trip is more important or your health (obviously the second is more important).
Hope this helps
