Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Pea Sized Lump On Tummy, Stomach Injury, Slight Tenderness In Area. Treatment?
My 14 year old son has a small pea sized lump on the left side of his tummy. He got hit in the stomach with his bike handle bars about 3 weeks ago but he is not sure if it was there before that. It I d slightly tender and not so easy to feel when he is laying down flat. He is fine in every other way but this lump is concerning both him and I.
It is possible that the lump could be a possible hematoma in the muscle following the injury. It seems benign as for now. Please wait and watch for another week. If it subsides on its own, then nothing to worry.
I do not think it is very serious. If it remains after a week or ten days, you may get him examined by the pediatrician to look for a possible inguinal hernia or a lymph node.
I wish him quick recovery.
Regards,
