Persistent Tenderness In Right Knee, Swollen, Painful. Treatment?
A patient complains of persistent tenderness in the right knee and groin area. The tenderness started a few weeks after he injured the big toe of his right foot, which became red, swollen, warm, and painful. He says the toe improved without medical attention. The knee and groin tenderness remain. What could the physician identify as the cause of the patient’s knee and groin pain? What is a possible treatment?
Welcome to HCM. Treatment always depends up on diagnosis. There might be some excessive weight bearing on right knee during injury on great toe. There might be some soft tissue injury on rt.knee and groin muscle. Start nsaid with muscle relaxant.Local application of nsaid gel will be helpful. If not improved than go for x-ray right knee(ap/lat. view) Consult orthopedician for further guidance and proper medical management.
