Positive Pregnancy Test, Ultrasound Shows Empty Womb, Only A Follicle. How Early Can A Blood Test Be Done ?
Hi. I have all pregnancy symptoms. Positive pregnancy test. The trans-vaginal ultrasound detected an empty womb and only a follicle in right ovary. My period was on the 31st of may. Sex on the 6th,9th and 10th of June. Ovulation 11th-12th, so I would be only 2-3 weeks pregnant? Could the stick test be a false positive? How early can I do the blood test? My gynecologist confused me as I had the ultrasound to detect how far along and if anything else is wrong as I have been cramping for 2.5 weeks. I have a son and my pregnancy with him was only detected at 6 weeks. Could the follicle be my expected period?
You need to repeat the home pregnancy test immediately after missed period. Early test is nothing significant. Blood test for beta-hCG is advisable 7 days after missed period to confirm that.
TVS scan is done around 4-5 weeks (from LMP) to see gestational sac or yolk sac at that time. It is more informative. Early scan may not able to detect anything inside womb.
Please consult with your gynecologist for the same. Good luck.
