Positive Test For Ureaplasma And Mycoplasma. Could This Be Caught Via Someone Coughing Or Sneezing?

Hi. I have recently tested positive for ureaplasma and mycoplasma. I m 28, have been married for 3 years and do not have affairs or sexual relations outside of my marriage. My husband tested negative. How can this happen? I have had STD tests in the past, although I realize they don t all test for these two bacteria. I have never had an STD or STI. I once had a yeast infection. I read that these bacteria can live in the respiratory tract too. Is it possible I caught it via someone sneezing or coughing on me, or maybe by sharing a drink?

hello there!
thank you for asking. Urea plasma urealyticum and mycolpasma pneumonia can be communicated through droplets or sneeze or cough and yes its possible.
They also reside in urogenital tracts. Until and unles imune status is not compromised it has nothing to worry about.
See the pulmonologist and Infectious disease specialist for better management

Good luck
