Possibility Of Having Shingles And Noticed Dry Skin
I had what the doctors thought was shingles. Those resolved, left light pink circles. Now have skin lesions have had before. On my face and in ears first. Then on back, buttocks, hip and chest. I will feel like a pop and then when look in mirror there is a round area with skin missing. They can be itchy. One area of first shingles outbreak also got a bit oozy but looks a bit different than other areas. Also having dry skin around thumb, so bad it is causing deep cut going on side of nail and up around thumb, very painful. This could just be dry skin. I have positive antibodies for Hasimotos but TSH still normal
It may not be shingles as you gave description of having lesions on wide areas ...extremities and trunk. It may be prurigo simplex with secondary bacterial infection. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. I would recommend you to take a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory drugs and antihistaminics for few weeks. If needed, oral steroid may be taken for short period and in tapering dose. Apply antibiotic cream on the lesions till the infection recovered ..then apply steroid cream to cure the lesions.
I think, you may be having poor immunity. All steps should be taken to improve the immunity...like nutritious diet,yoga,exercise,..etc
Hope this elks.
