Possible To Conceive Two Weeks After Termination?

I had a medical termination nearly 4 weeks ago. I had lots of bleeding and large clotting as expected and then a break and then more bleeding which I assumed was my period. My period looked like it was finishing yesterday so I took a pregnancy test from the doctor which looked positive. To be certain I went and bought a Clear Blue digital test today and took it - it came up saying pregnant 1-2 weeks I am panicking to say the least. Me and my partner have been safe and I have been on the pill but I m concerned still as I am not sure if my pill times have coincided right with us having sex. We have had sex 3 times since the termination and my partner did not ejaculate inside me.... But I am aware this doesn t always mean pregnancy doesn t occur . I have been told that the pregnancy hormone may still be in my system, but I m really worried I have somehow become pregnant again less than two weeks after having a termination. I m scared and highly embarrassed. Can you shed any light on any of this. Many thanks

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

In the setting of a medical termination where the pregnancy test remains positive, you MUST consider that the termination did NOT work. It is possible that you had bleeding but did not pass the pregnancy and it is still there. You need to demand a blood HCG level AND an ultrasound to figure out what is going on.
