Postpartum, C-section Birth, Clear Fluid Leakage. Recommendations?

I am about 6 weeks postpartum, the birth was a c-section. Yesterday I noticed clear fluid had leaked onto a chair I sat on. It didn't smell like urine. Then early this morning I awoke to another gush on my underwear, enough to soak through the small pad I was wearing and soak my underwear. I thought it was urine but it didn't smell like urine and wasn't yellow. Was pretty clear. What could this be? I will check with my Dr. on Monday, but she's not always there and today is Saturday. please help!

Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

The uterus begins the “involution” process which is is the shrinking of the uterus to its pre-pregnancy size. You might have experienced heavy bleeding of bright red blood—This is called lochia and can continue for up to 6 weeks. This is most likely the completion of involution. You will need to have extra-absorbent menstrual pads. If there is foul smelling, pain and fever, please consult your doctor.

Hope this helps
