Pregnant. Contractions And Cervix Closed, Brown Clots In Urine. Sign Of Preterm Labor?
I'm 30 weeks pregnant and yesterday I was hospitalized with some contractions.. Then I had two cervix checks, cervix was closed... But soon after I started bleeding old blood that was brown.. I started bleeding throughout the night the same old blood and today I'm passing brown clots in my urine.. Went to L and D and they everything was okay.. I had a speculum exam but the doctor did not make it clear what the clots were.. No ultrasound was performed just a routine speculum exam.. Urine was negative for UTI.. and swabs were done but no infection.. I'm worried I might have signs of pre term labor with the contractions n clots in urine.. Can you give me any advice
Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.
Given that you were initially seen and an exam was done and THEN you started having bleeding, I can only assume that the bleeding was from the exam. This is actually fairly common. I am especially less worried because they then evaluated you a second time and told you that everything was okay! I would take it easy, avoid intercourse, and if things don't clear up quickly, then you will need to be re-evaluated again.
I hope that this helps. If you have more questions, please click on "ASK ME A QUESTION" link above to directly ask me a question!
