Pregnant. Feels Hard Belly. Done Ultrasound. Why Pubic Area Is Painful As I Lay Down?
hi.Im 34 weeks pregnant and i feel my belly is very hard..accrdg to my u/s i have an intrauterine fetus in longitudinal lie, cephalic presentation during my 29 weeks 2 days AOG.will it change in position until i gave birth?and why my pubic area is very painfull as i lay down and change in sideways direction and when im walking,is that normal?please help..many thanks!
Hello THanks for your query. The position of the fetus can technically change anytime till 36 - 37 weeks of pregnancy. However, baby being in cephalic presentation is what is normal, that is , the head is occupying the pelvis down below. Also, the pressure of the head on the pelvis near term will cause pubic pain which is quite common, so do not worry. If you are feeling that the belly is very hard, then please visit your obstetrician to rule out preterm labour. Also, rule out calcium and vitamin D deficiency as causes of pubic pain. All the best.
