Pregnant. Ultrasound Of Placenta Done. What Are The Chances Of Vaginal Birth?
At my 21 week ultrasound my placenta is 7mm from covering my cervix. My midwife was very relaxed about this and says it can move. What are the chances of it moving enough to have a vaginal birth. I feel like she is stringing me along and I am nervous about the thought of having a c section. If the odds are against a vaginal birth I would rather be aware and take the remaining few months to find a good ob instead of sticking it out with a midwife if the changes are low of my placenta moving. My midwife is acting like it is no big deal. Just had my 24 week appt and she didn't even talk about my sonogram except when I brought it up as she never went though the full results with me.
There is great chance of placental migration. You should have follow up ultrasonography to see its movement. At the time of delivery, even if it is low lying placenta ,vaginal delivery can be tried. You shouldn't be so worried about C-section.Now a days it is electively preferred by many ladies as vaginal delivery is very painful. Also, recovery time is less in C-section.You shouldn't be so apprehensive. It is too early to comment on type of delivery. At present, you should try to be happy and take nutritious diet.
