Pregnant. Ultrasound Showed Fetal Head In Lower Pole, Umbilical Cord Around Neck, Placental Position Fundal And Anterior. Complications?
i am 23 years old. i am in my 33 weeks of pregnancy. in my ultra sound scan it is said that my fetal head is in the lower pole, and umbilical cord around it's neck. my placental position is fundal and anterior and it attained the level of grade iii maturity. because of this i have fear towards my labor. is there any complications for me and my baby, please clear my doubts
Hi Thanks for your query. Fetal head is normally in the lower pole, so do not worry. Placental position is also normal. Umbilical cord around the neck MIGHT cause problems in labour if it is quite tight. However, right now there is no problem in the report described by you. All the best.
Hi, The position of the fetus and the placenta are normal. Presence of the cord around the neck at this stage may or may not correct spontaneously and as such does not pose much problem; progress of labor needs to be closely monitored. With a long cord, labor will progress normally. So, please do not worry. Most often, during the process of normal labor, cord around the neck is discovered accidentally. Hope your query is answered. Wish you safe motherhood.
